25 studios at the heart of Québec City! The MMAQ is a unique place for creation and training in fine crafts.
The Maison des métiers d’art de Québec is a centre for training, creation and research devoted to the development of contemporary practices in fine crafts and visual arts. The centre’s activities focus mostly on ceramics, sculpture, and textile knowledge. The MMAQ targets diverse clienteles of all ages, including the grand public and professional artists.

Whether online or in the studios, these classes are perfect to learn the techniques or improve one’s mastery by carrying out personal projects.
Emerging creators
In partnership with the Cégep Limoilou, the MMAQ offers the technical courses of the diploma of collegial studies (DEC) in fine crafts (Techniques de métiers d’art) in Ceramics, Textile Construction, and Sculpture.

The MMAQ fosters creation and takes part in the advancing of fine crafts knowledge. Conferences, creation residencies, research committees…
Youth
The MMAQ offers recreational classes, Summer camps, and the integrated Visual Arts-studies option in collaboration with the école secondaire Cardinal-Roy.

Our ceramics department has a laboratory devoted to research in ceramics techniques and materials. The Mimi-Belleau room, named in the honor of the ceramist and teacher, includes the greatest shared collection of glazing samples in Québec.

Our studios and specialized equipment for ceramics, sculpture and textile are accessible to professional artists and artisans at competitive rates
Ceramics
Twisting and shaping are not available. For any other request (for instance cooking), please contact the technician with your project details.
Sculpture
Rental of sculpture studios is intended only for former students and teachers of the DEC in Fine crafts techniques – Sculpture option.
Textile
Textile studios are opened to all, but everyone must be autonomous in using the equipment.
